The PSO is the Solomon Islands general public’s legal services provider.

We are established by the Constitution to provide professional legal aid, advice and assistance to persons in need who otherwise, would not be able to get such help.

Our expertise covers seven areas of law that are of importance to the country and our efforts are especially targeted towards giving the most disadvantaged in our society, access to justice.

As a statutory institution of justice, we are dedicated to the public interest, working in collaboration with our in-house legal experts and justice sector partners to protect the fundamental rights of ordinary Solomon Islanders and foreign nationals whose legal issues fall under the jurisdiction of Solomon Islands laws.

The PSO has the lawyers of choice for the country’s most disadvantaged and vulnerable and we bring to bear decades of experience and knowledge in a wide range of legal issues.
